Building Tips

Using Images in your App#

To enhance your app with images or provide references to the AI, you can easily upload images directly in the chat.
Click the "+" icon in the chat window.
Choose from two options:
As Attachment – The AI will see and use the image as a reference for understanding or modifying your app.
As URL – The AI will use the image in your app, for example, as part of the design or as an asset in the app's interface.
You can only use URLs of media that have been uploaded to the platform. You can do this in two ways: either by using the "Add Media" option in the chat, as we explained earlier, or by manually uploading your media to https://dashboard.altan.ai/assets/media and then using that URL directly in the chat.

Using the Targeted Edit Tool#

The Targeted Edit Tool allows you to make precise changes to any component of your app’s interface by directly selecting it.
Activate the Targeted Edit Tool – Click the "Select target" button on the botton left of your preview, then click on the specific component of the app interface you want to modify (e.g., a button, image, or form field).
The selected component will automatically be sent to the chat, where you can describe the changes you want to make.
Open the Code – If you’re a pro developer, you can directly open the code for the selected component and manually modify it.
Type your changes in the chat or make adjustments in the code. For example:
"Change button color to blue."
"Update this image to a new logo."
"Make the form fields larger."

Using the Chat Refresher#

To help save credits and improve efficiency, it’s recommended to use the Chat Refresher periodically.
The Chat Refresher allows you to reset the conversation context, so the AI doesn’t need to retain all of the context from a long chat history.
By refreshing the chat, the AI will focus only on the latest prompt, reducing unnecessary memory usage.
This ensures that your app remains responsive while minimizing costs, especially during extended development sessions
Accessing Past Conversations
Don’t worry, your past conversations are not deleted.
You can access them anytime by clicking the sidebar button on the chat.
This lets you quickly refer back to previous discussions and continue from where you left off.
