Create your first AI Agent
Set Up Your AI Agent
Step 1: Go to AI Agents
Step 2: Name Your Agent
Name Your Agent: Choose a meaningful name, e.g., "Outreach Pro." Assign an avatar picture and select a model (we recommend gpt-4o).
Step 3: Create Agent
Click Create Agent to initialize your agent.
Configure Your AI Agent
Add a Prompt
Go to the Agent page
Your new agent will appear in the Agents page, click on it to configure.
Write a Prompt
Write a clear prompt to define the agent's purpose. For example:
You are a professional email outreach assistant. Your task is to craft concise and compelling outreach emails tailored to the recipient. Each email should be polite, personalized, and encourage the recipient to take action.
Hit Save
Save the prompt to define your agent's behavior, the save button is on the bottom of the screen, inside the Dynamic Island. 
Add a Tool: Gmail Integration
Step 1: Open Tools Section
Click Add Tool in the agent interface. 
Step 2: Select Gmail API
From the available apps, select Gmail. Choose the action: Send Email. 
Step 3: Configure Parameters
Each parameter in your tool can be set to one of three modes:Manual Parameter Selection:
Use this option to hardcode the parameter value (e.g., setting a default sender email) or to ignore the parameter completely. This is ideal for values that remain constant or are not relevant to your workflow.

Let AI Fill the Parameter:
Allow the AI Agent to dynamically generate the parameter’s value (e.g., crafting the email body or subject). This option ensures the AI adapts its output based on the context or prompt.

Dynamic Parameters: Use AI for fields that require personalized or contextual content, such as email bodies or subject lines.
Manual Parameters: Hardcode fields like sender email for consistency or ignore unnecessary fields to streamline the configuration. Recommended configuration:

Step 4: Save the Tool
Save the tool configuration to enable the agent to send emails.
Test Your AI Agent
Step 1: Open the Chat
Go to the Dynamic Island and click the chat icon to interact with your agent.
Step 2: Interact with Your Agent
Type a command, such as:
Write an email to introduce our automation platform to a potential client, the mail is contact@altan.ai.
Step 3: Monitor Tasks
Check the Tasks section to confirm the agent has crafted the email and used the Gmail tool to send it.
Step 4: Refine and Retest
Review the output and execution logs. Adjust the prompt or tool settings if necessary.
